October 29, 2009 - Washington, DC
ESGI and The Homeland Security and Defense Business Council in conjunction with the Georgetown Public Policy Institute held a private sector panel discussion with students.
The purpose of the discussion was to bring together business leaders in homeland security to discuss how their companies are contributing to the defense of our country. The panel also wanted to discuss the various career options that the graduate students can pursue within homeland security.
Moderated by Evan Scott, President of ESGI, a leading executive search firm specializing in homeland security, the discussion was lively and very well received by the students and faculty.
According to Mr. Scott: “I was most impressed with the intelligence and energy of these students. It was surprising how many weren't yet aware of the possible roles they might play within homeland security. The panel opened them up to their many and diverse options. I have no doubt the discussion was valuable in furthering their understanding of what homeland security really entails and how industry is involved. The main theme they came away with is how elastic the field still is. Individuals involved can really make a difference while being in control of their own careers.” |
